Sustainable
agriculture/Organic farming…
Increased use of commercial fertilizers has greatly been
attributed to the continuous increase in the atmospheric green houses like
carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide..Now it’s a high time we shifted to organic
farming/sustainable farming as organic manure is more advantageous. One, they
retain the soils water moisture, they increase the soil humus..they control the
soils Ph and doesn’t contribute to the generation of green house
emissions..This kind of farming shall help mitigate the negatives effects of
climate change.
Also the kind of crops grown have an impact to climate
change..Its a high time we shift and focus on mainly legumes as they tend to be
drought resistant and improves soil fertility. Crops like sorghum, beans
cassava and intercrop them with crops like maize..
